Dressage Training with Juan Matute

Whether you are new to dressage or wish to sharpen your upper level skills, this is an ideal trip offering you an opportunity to train with Juan Matute. He is a member of the Spanish Dressage team who has competed for Spain in the Seoul, Barcelona and Atlanta Olympic Games and the European Championships. Juan studied in Germany with Herbert Rehbein and has been named the Spanish National Dressage Champion five times during his career. His style of teaching is very compatible with both German and Spanish dressage principles. He is widely sought after worldwide and has a particular talent for teaching the three P’s – piaffe, passage, and pirouettes. Juan speaks English fluently and energizes his students with his good natured personality.

You do not need to speak Spanish to know that El Convento means “the convent” and your accommodation was one in its previous life. The highly personalized interior decorations give you a sense of warmth, elegance and comfort. The former nun cells have been magnificently decorated as bedrooms and quests can enjoy a stroll through the exquisite ornamental gardens in the heart of the convent through the refectory and cloister. Across from the convent is The La Hosteria restaurant which is renowned for it contemporary Mediterranean cuisine.
